Disaster Risk Management in a High Complexity Hospital specialized in emergencies and urgent care in Lima-Peru in the year 2023-2024
This study describes disaster risk management at the José Casimiro Ulloa Emergency Hospital (JCUEH), a high-complexity hospital specializing in emergency and urgent care in Lima, Peru, during 2023 and 2024. The analysis focuses on Budget Program 0068, “Vulnerability Reduction and Disaster Emergency Response,” examining budget allocation, budget execution, physical target execution, and the relationship between budgetary and physical targets. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design was used, based on documentary analysis of publicly available budgetary and physical information. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was applied to assess differences between budgetary and physical target execution. Budget execution reached 98% in 2023 and 100% in 2024, while physical target execution reached 100% in both years. The findings contribute to understanding the implementation of disaster risk management in a high-complexity emergency hospital within the Peruvian public health system.
