Recurrent Oval Erythematous‐Edematous Plaque on the Right Cheek

ABSTRACT A 51‐year‐old man presented with a recurrent erythematous plaque on the right cheek. Histopathologic examination revealed an inflammatory infiltrate predominantly involving sebaceous lobules, associated with sebocyte necrosis and preservation of the follicular epithelium. Clinicopathologic correlation established the diagnosis of neutrophilic sebaceous adenitis, a rare inflammatory dermatosis of uncertain pathogenesis. This case highlights the importance of recognizing its characteristic histopathologic pattern and considering this entity in the differential diagnosis of recurrent facial plaques.
