COMPARATIVE STUDIES OF HYPOTHYROIDISM AND HYPERTHYROIDISM

ABSTRACT:Thyroid dysfunction includes hypothyroidism, characterized by reduced thyroidhormone production, and hyperthyroidism, characterized by excessive thyroid hormoneproduction. This retrospective comparative study evaluated demographic characteristics,clinical features, thyroid function parameters, associated comorbidities, and treatment-relatedinformation among selected patients with thyroid disease. The project report states that datafrom 200 patients were collected using a thyroid-related data collection form, with ethicalcommittee approval number ERODALL20240035839. The reported study populationcontained 66% females and 34% males, with the 30–49-year age group representingthelargest category. Thyroid function assessment included thyroid-stimulating hormone,T3/T4-related parameters andassociated clinical findings. The study emphasizes theimportance of early diagnosis, appropriate treatment, regularmonitoring, and adherence in themanagement of thyroid disorders.
