Gout: Contemporary Approaches to Diagnosis, Treatment, and Long-Term Management

This narrative review summarizes contemporary approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of gout. It discusses pathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnostic methods, management of acute gout flares, urate-lowering therapy, treat-to-target strategies, lifestyle and comorbidity management, and rehabilitation. Particular emphasis is placed on achieving sustained serum urate control, preventing recurrent flares, reducing crystal burden, and preserving joint function.
