PHYSICAL FOUNDATIONS OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY UTILIZATION AND ITS IMPACT ON ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source based on the natural heat stored within the Earth’s interior and represents an important alternative to conventional fossil-fuel-based energy production. This thesis examines the physical principles of geothermal energy conversion, heat transfer mechanisms, geothermal reservoirs, and the environmental factors determining the sustainability of geothermal energy systems.
