FEATURES AND CONDITIONS FOR THE ADAPTATION OF AGRICULTURE IN THE REPUBLIC OF KALMYKIA TO ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES

The Republic of Kalmykia belongs to the most arid regions of the Russian Federation, where climate change, increased droughts and long-term irrational use of natural resources have led to large-scale land degradation and desertification of a significant part of the territory. These processes pose direct threats to food security and the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, which is the backbone of the region's economy.
