Features of the interrelationship between indicators of self-concept, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships in adolescents of different genders

The purpose of the study is to examine the features of the interrelationship between indicators of self-concept, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships in adolescents of different genders. Research methods and organization. Analysis of scientific and methodological literature, psychological diagnostics, and methods of mathematical statistics were used. The study was conducted at a secondary school in Krasnodar with the participation of adolescents aged 13–14 years (girls and boys). Research results and conclusions. The study described the developmental features of adolescents and examined the interrelationship of the indicators. No significant differences in the indicators of interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, and self-concept between adolescent girls and boys were found. The obtained result suggests that teachers and parents need to organize interpersonal communication taking into account the individual characteristics of the adolescent, rather than the psychological profile of the group as a whole. The indicators of the methods in this study group showed a statistically insignificant difference between adolescent boys and girls, which forms a general portrait of a child of adolescence.
