Maximal output admissible sets under symmetric constraints using a centered parallelotopic approach

This paper proposes an approach to determine the maximal output admissible set for the class of control problems with symmetric constraints. This set is defined as the collection of all initial states so that the predicted output response from the current state satisfies the constraints. The main consideration is to investigate a linear-algebraic mechanism, especially in systems with model variation. This paper proposes a linear vertex-based set inclusion procedure that benefits a more efficient inner-approximation strategy. The proposed approach has been developed using a special class of polyhedral sets, called centered parallelotopes (a simple structure within the class of zonotope sets), which offer unique geometric properties. The performance and efficiency of the proposed strategy have been analyzed with numerical examples and compared with the original optimization-based algorithm.
