Abstract

The purpose of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the dynamics of anthropometric data, indicators of functional and psycho-emotional status in male students of M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University who regularly engage in sports, and their peers whose motor activity volume is declared by the content of the standard curriculum in the discipline "Physical Education." Research methods. To achieve this aim, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis and synthesis of specialized and scientific literature, anthropometry, spirometry, dynamometry, assessment of hemodynamic indicators by heart rate, systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) blood pressure, functional Stange and Genchi tests, calculation of the Rohrer, Robinson, and Kerdo indices, analysis of the percentage deviation of basal metabolic rate using Reed's formula, determination of adaptation potential according to R.M. Baevsky and A.P. Berseneva, and assessment of situational and personal anxiety using the Spielberger–Hanin questionnaire. The obtained results were subjected to statistical processing and interpreted based on a 95% confidence level. Research results and conclusions. The greatest differences were found in dynamometry indicators, the endurance coefficient, and the strength index. In addition, student-athletes demonstrated higher levels of vital capacity, breath-holding time during inhalation and exhalation, as well as hand dynamometry, compared to non-athlete students. The indicators of the Robinson and Kerdo indices, as well as the level of situational and personal anxiety in the examined individuals, were within normal limits and did not show significant differences. Thus, students of M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University whose motor activity was determined by regular training in Yakut national sports (Yakut jumps, mas-wrestling, khapsagay wrestling), boxing, and running athletics (400, 800, and 1000 m), significantly differ from their peers whose motor activity is regulated by the standard curriculum in the discipline "Physical Education" in terms of indicators characterizing strength and speed-strength endurance, as well as general physical performance and functional fitness.
