Examination of the Implementation Processes of Rail Vehicle Onboard Systems for Infrastructure Monitoring
Abstract The authors examined the process of creating and launching railway infrastructure condition measurement equipment in a pilot project. During this process, three stages were implemented when multicriteria decision-making was applied. First, the type of sensors was selected for the equipment, and then a rail vehicle location was selected where the equipment would be mounted. Then, the country in which the pilot project would be proceed was carefully chosen. Each step was performed using three different methodologies. The authors suggest use of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method for selecting type of sensors (summarizing the results of a survey of the experts). The selection of the location of the equipment onboard was based on expert consultations, considering the construction of the rail vehicles. The selection of the country for the pilot project was based on the results of a survey of experts, using a multicriteria decision-making method based on the fuzzy principle. The article presents the course and results of the study.
