A new species of Aphanogmus Thomson (Hymenoptera: Ceraphronidae) from India
A new species of Aphanogmus, A. bankebiharii Tyagi, Ghosh and Kumar, is described from India. The species was collected from the Purulia district of West Bengal, India, using yellow pan traps. A detailed description of the new species including male genitalia is provided. Moreover, six DNA barcodes, from the holotype and paratypes, using a partial fragment of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene are generated and submitted to GenBank. To explore the phylogenetic relationships between A. bankebiharii and other species of this genus, a maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree is constructed using the publicly available COI gene data of five other species of Aphanogmus.http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:141AB2F4-9CAB-4734-9251-4580E3CF7F2F
