Biomechanical and Safety Analysis of a 10-Meter High Dive into the Latian Dam Reservoir: A Case Study
This case study examines the biomechanical parameters and safety considerations of a 10-meter high dive performed on October 30, 2003 (8 Aban 1382), at the age of 20, into the Latian Dam reservoir in Tehran, Iran. The estimated water depth at the entry point was 60-75 meters, based on the dam's specifications. The entry velocity was calculated as 14 m/s (50 km/h). The dive was associated with significant risks unrelated to water depth, including proximity to turbine intake, underwater vortex currents, potential underwater obstacles, low water temperature, and lack of rescue access.
