Agent Playbook: A Runnable and Safety Constrained Framework for Practical AI Agent Development
Agent Playbook is an open source collection of practical AI agent projects, introductory examples, reusable templates, and community contribution tooling. It shows how model interpretation, external information, deterministic validation, permissions, human review, and output artifacts fit together in runnable agent workflows. This technical report documents the repository architecture and examines the Booking Agent, Gas Agent, WhatsApp Support Agent, and Multichain Agent Team in detail. It distinguishes model dependent interpretation from deterministic computation and separates readiness, approval, artifact preparation, and external execution. The reviewed implementations use a replaceable model adapter, allowing compatible hosted or local models to be used while retaining the same validation and policy boundaries. Recorded component validation reports 261 passing tests across nine suites. A separate local rerun produced 246 passing tests after excluding 15 provider adapter tests. The report also documents limitations that passing tests do not resolve, including aggregate balance accounting, budget evaluation when prices are unavailable, invitation interoperability, and the limits of heuristic privacy filtering.
