Intelligent Living the Impact of Smart Home Technologies on Daily Life
The way we live inside our homes is changing with technology. What was once limited to switching lights on and off remotely has now developed into a much more connected experience. Smart devices, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, voice assistants, sensors and automated systems can work together to support many of the small activities that make up our everyday routines. From opening the curtains when we wake up to adjusting the air-conditioner before bedtime, technology can increasingly respond to our habits and preferences. A simple “Good Morning” command, for instance, could open the curtains, adjust the lighting and set the room temperature. While getting ready, a smart mirror could display the day's appointments, reminders, weather and personal notes. Later in the day, voice commands could be used to operate the water motor, manage plant irrigation or control household appliances. Smart locks could provide different access permissions to family members, domestic staff and visitors, while smart television settings could help parents manage what their children watch. When friends arrive, a Party Mode could change the lighting, music, temperature and entertainment settings together. At the end of the day, a Good Night Mode could switch off selected lights, adjust the AC, close the curtains and secure the home. These examples show that smart-home technology is becoming less about individual gadgets and more about creating a home that responds to the people living in it. This paper explores how such technologies can make everyday routines easier, more comfortable and more personalized, while also considering concerns surrounding privacy, security, reliability and dependence on technology. From an interior-design perspective, the study also considers how technology can be integrated into spaces without compromising their warmth, character and human quality. Below is a properly structured research-paper version, retaining the humanised tone while making it academically credible. I have also strengthened the research problem, methodology, discussion, and conclusion so it reads like a paper rather than an article.
