The Mahony Grazzini Archetype Inventory (MGAI): An Integrated Meta-Model for Personality Psychology (Version 2.0)

The Mahony Grazzini Archetype Inventory (MGAI) represents an ambitious attempt to overcomethe paradigmatic fragmentation that characterizes personality psychology. Developed by AlessandroMahony and Emanuela Grazzini, the model proposes an integrated meta-model based on 12archetypes organized into 6 polar pairs, capable of combining biological, psychological, cultural,and existential dimensions. The MGAI rests on a dual integration: on the one hand, the attemptto synergize 48 Western psychological theories; on the other, the inclusion of 32 global culturalframeworks, in an explicitly anti-colonialist perspective. The model also includes a clinical codingof archetypal “shadows” according to DSM-5 and ICD-11, a neuroscientific anchoring, and atransparent methodology that declares the use of artificial intelligence tools as research aids.This contribution describes the architecture of the MGAI, its theoretical foundations, clinicalapplications, and prospects for empirical validation. This version 2.0 represents a descriptiveevolution of the original model deposited on OSF (Open Science Framework), whose fundamentalstructure it maintains while enriching it with further insights and a broader transculturalintegration.
