Polish model of European and Euro-Atlantic integration: institutional mechanisms and their relevance for Ukraine

This study compares Poland’s and Ukraine’s integration into the European Union and NATO through a document-based institutional analysis of their political, economic and security trajectories. It argues that the transferable dimension of the Polish experience lies in administrative capacity, cross-party continuity, interinstitutional coordination and democratic oversight, rather than in the peacetime sequencing through which NATO guarantees preceded EU accession. Ukraine’s integration, by contrast, unfolds concurrently with war, reconstruction and defence adaptation, rendering security and economic transformation mutually dependent.
