Building Expertise in Perianesthesia Nursing Through a Structured Fellowship Program

Nurses transitioning into perianesthesia practice often require specialty-specific development beyond traditional orientation and nurse residency programs. To address this gap, a 4-month Perianesthesia Nurse Fellowship was created using didactic education, simulation, hands-on learning, and critical thinking activities to strengthen specialty knowledge, confidence, competence, and clinical readiness.
