Performance signature of high speed data processing radio over fiber system based fiber to home network applications with advanced quadrature amplitude modulation scheme

Abstract This paper has demonstrated the simulative study based on the performance signature of high speed data processing radio over fiber system based fiber to home network applications with advanced quadrature amplitude modulation scheme. Return to zero code (RZ) and nonreturn to zero code (NRZ) transmission schemes are employed in the transmission side. The output received power at avalanche photodetector (APD) receiver is studied numerically against the input signal power and different transmission NRZ and RZ code at the fiber link distance variations. Power budget link margin is demonstrated against the input signal power variations and fiber link length variations based on NRZ and RZ transmission code. Signal per noise ratio and the bit error rate are deeply simulated and verified against the fiber link length and different levels based high order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) technique with RZ and NRZ transmission code. High order QAM technique has clarified the optimum signal per noise ratio and minimum bit error rate for the fiber to the home network based radio over fiber technology.
