Special Issue in Honor of Michael Bonitz's 65th Birthday

ABSTRACT During his extraordinarily successful career, Prof. Michael Bonitz has made outstanding contributions to a broad range of topics and applications within plasma physics, including cutting‐edge nonequilibrium Green's functions methods for the description of the dynamics of quantum many‐body systems, quasi‐exact quantum Monte Carlo methods for the description of warm dense matter and a variety of innovations for the description of classical and semi‐classical plasmas. In this special issue on the occasion of his 65th birthday, we celebrate his career with a selection of original research and review articles, that span the full gamut from atmospheric pressure plasma jets and strongly coupled Yukawa systems, over quantum stopping power calculations and ultrafast transitions in X‐ray irradiated solids, to ab initio simulations of warm dense matter and x‐ray Thomson scattering experiments at key research facilities.
