D3.2 Reference protocols to be used for DNA and RNA-seq

This deliverable reports the work performed in WP3 Task 3.2: DNA sequencing and transcriptomic approaches. In this task the reference protocols, bioinformatic pipelines and computational methods adopted within MOBILES are defined. The document discusses the sequencing-based characterisation of soil microbial communities, covering 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing for metataxonomic profiling and total RNA sequencing (metatranscriptomics) for the analysis of active microbial gene expression.
