Correlation between gut microbiota and clinical parameters (albumin and D-dimer) in patients with sequelae of intracerebral hemorrhage
Abstract To investigate the changes in gut microbiota of patients with sequelae of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and explore the relationship between gut microbiota and the body state after ICH. Fecal samples were collected from patients with sequelae of ICH and healthy controls who met the inclusion criteria. Metagenomic sequencing was performed, and clinical laboratory data were collected for statistical analysis. Significant differences were observed in globulin, albumin and D-dimer et al. between the ICH group and the Control group. Compared to the Control group, the ICH group showed significant changes in gut microbiota at various taxonomic levels. At the genus level, the ICH group had significantly lower relative abundances of Klebsiella and Roseburia, and significantly higher relative abundances of Escherichia, Akkermansia and Parabacteroides. Spearman’s correlation analysis revealed significant relationships between clinical parameters (albumin and D-dimer) and microbial features. At the genus level, Intestinibacter abundance positively correlated with albumin, whereas Enterococcus and Salmonella showed inverse relationships. These findings indicate that the gut microbiota and drug resistance gene profiles of patients with ICH sequelae exhibit distinct alterations, suggesting a potential interplay among microbial ecology, antibiotic resistance, and post-hemorrhagic metabolic adaptation. Notably, albumin and D-dimer levels may correlate with microbial composition and resistance gene distribution. Therefore, increased attention should be directed toward monitoring albumin and D-dimer in patients with ICH sequelae.
