Semiprimitivity of integral group rings
We prove that the integral group ring of every group has zero Jacobson radical. This settles Conjecture A formulated by Johnson. The argument combines the standard involution with the integrality of the coefficients. A finite sum-of-squares identity forces the relevant group-ring element to vanish. This gives an elementary proof of semiprimitivity without any restriction on the group.
