Recursive Becoming v0.1 — A provisional model of conscious participation in becoming This manuscript presents Recursive Becoming, a provisional conceptual model concerning the relationship between consciousness, question generation, and the ongoing process of becoming. The model proposes that conscious participation in becoming may be understood through the capacity of a conscious system to generate questions about its current actuality and, through those questions, access and differentiate possible future states. It distinguishes between chronological time, operational time, experienced time, and available conscious space, and examines the conditions under which recursive interaction with a system's possible futures can occur. The manuscript develops the concept of question generation as a potential control point within conscious recursive processes and introduces a preliminary definition of possibility space. It also considers the relationship between Recursive Becoming and existing perspectives including enactivism, predictive processing, metacognition, and creativity. This version is explicitly provisional. It is intended to establish the initial formulation of the model, identify its boundaries and assumptions, and provide a basis for subsequent conceptual development and empirical investigation.
