ROAD TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMERS' SATISFACTION FOR NATION'S GROWTH.
Road transportation is more often the backbone of any economy as regards to movements that connect the producers, products, marketers and consumers. The inadequate management of this transportation system dampens the development of the nation’s economy that results in dissatisfaction among the customers in the industry. Thus, the study investigates road transport management on customers’ satisfaction for nation’s growth using SERVQUAL Model with focus on Transport Corporation of Anambra State (TRACAS), Nigeria. The study used primary data collected through questionnaire as survey instrument to elicit the service quality perceptions of road passengers. The results of the study indicated that the six SERVQUAL dimensions showed that there is a strong relationship between customers’ satisfaction and public transport service in Nigeria. Therefore, the perspectives of the passengers (customers’ satisfaction), and road transportation are truly essential in road transportation management. Arising from the findings, the study recommended regular maintenance of vehicles and roads and provision of quality customer services that satisfy the commuters which regularly use the roads, thereby improve economic activities
