Nossa Dor (Our Pain): concept document for an evidence-based peer support and self-care community for people living with pain

Nossa Dor (Our Pain) is a planned online community for peer support and evidence-based self-care, aimed at adults living with physical or emotional pain associated with health conditions. The platform is organised into condition-specific rooms moderated by health professionals with expertise in each area. Artificial intelligence is limited to flagging risk content for moderators, and responses to flagged posts are written by identified human moderators. The only automated message is an emergency-contact reply that is part of the crisis protocol. The design also includes trauma-informed care, pseudonymous participation, adults-only access, and independence from the pharmaceutical industry. This concept document describes the problem, the proposal, the room structure, moderation and safety rules, governance, implementation phases, and open questions. It is not a health service and does not provide clinical advice. Available in English and Portuguese
