Stereocomplex-Enhanced Shear Viscosity of PLA-PEG-PLA Amphiphilic Triblock Copolymers
Abstract Drag-reducing agents have been widely used in hydraulic fracturing processes to conserve energy. However, most of them are not biodegradable, thus posing a threat to ecosystems. In this study, we synthesized a series of biodegradable copolymers, PLLA-PEG-PLLA and PDLA-PEG-PDLA, and prepared their stereocomplexes. Shear viscosity measurements were conducted to study how the polymer structures and stereocomplexation lead to different rheological properties in a brine solution.
