Technological Experienscape and Revisit Intention of Tourists in Chinese Theme Parks: The Mediating Role of Flow Experience
Theme parks are increasingly using digital and smart technologies, but how different technology functions influence tourists’ revisit intention still requires further study. From the perspective of technological experienscape, this study divides theme park technology experiences into four dimensions, telepresence, telemetry, smart queuing systems, and technology-driven service convenience, and examines the roles of attentional concentration and time distortion. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used. Data were collected from 276 valid respondents through an online questionnaire, and SPSS and AMOS 24.0 were used for CFA, path analysis, and Bootstrap parallel mediation analysis. The results show that all four technology dimensions have significant positive effects on tourists’ revisit intention, attentional concentration, and time distortion. Technology-driven service convenience showed the largest standardized coefficients for tourists’ revisit intention and time distortion, while telemetry showed the largest standardized coefficient for attentional concentration. Attentional concentration and time distortion both have significant positive effects on tourists’ revisit intention, and both play significant partial mediating roles between overall technological experienscape and revisit intention. The findings show that different technology functions do not influence tourists’ experiential states in exactly the same way. Although attentional concentration and time distortion are both related to flow experience, they reflect different experiential states and form two different parallel paths between technological experienscape and revisit intention.
