VOICES OF CHANGE: HOW CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS SHAPE SUSTAINABLE POVERTY REDUCTION IN ETHIOPIA

Abstract The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) stands out as a changing force at the core of Ethiopia's fight against poverty, interweaving resilience into the fabric of at-risk communities. Surveying 207 individuals, interviewing civil society group leaders, and investigating how their activity interacts with Ethiopian government policies, this research mixes human narratives with comprehensive statistics to demonstrate how Sida is changing things. The findings provide a convincing image: a 12.2% increase in food security, a 10.5% increase in healthcare access, and empowered livelihoods by means of strategic partnerships. Still, shadows of economic uncertainty and cultural impediments remain to test the effectiveness of interventions. This study reveals how Sida reduces poverty and develops a fair development plan by merging data, narratives, and tactics from many groups, so proving that when global support is founded on local needs, it may change obstacles into opportunities for progress.
