PHARMACEUTICO-ANALYTICAL STUDY OF ABHAYARISHTA AND ITS IN VITRO CYTOTOXIC ACTIVITY ON HT-29 HUMAN COLORECTAL ADENOCARCINOMA CELL LINE

Ayurveda, the ancient system of Indian medicine, encompasses a wide range of pharmaceutical preparations described under the discipline of Bhaishajya Kalpana. Among these, Sandhana Kalpana represents a unique class of formulations prepared through controlled fermentation processes. Abhayarishta is one such Ayurvedic fermented formulation indicated in various Gastrointestinal diseases like Arsha, Grahani, Udara, Aruchi. Abhayarishta is also useful in Pliharoga, Hridroga, Shotha, Pandu, Kamala, Gulma, Kushtha, Shwitra, Vyanga, Rajayakshma, Jwara, Krumi, Granthi, Arbuda. Abhayarishta is discussed in various Ayurvedic Granths, but in this particular study, it has been cited from Charak Samhita.
