Teaching Manual Skills for Indirect Fixed Restorations in Preclinical Dental Education: A Scoping Review Protocol

This protocol describes a scoping review aimed at mapping the teaching methods used to develop manual skills for indirect fixed restorations in preclinical dental education. The review examines educational approaches, teaching tools and technologies, assessment methods, and reported educational outcomes. PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus were searched using predefined eligibility criteria and search strategies. Study selection, data extraction, and descriptive synthesis were conducted following a predefined protocol, and the review is reported in accordance with the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). The review aims to characterize current educational approaches and identify gaps in the available literature to guide future research in preclinical prosthodontic education.
