The genome sequence of Syringa vulgaris L., 1753 (Lamiales: Oleaceae)

We present a genome assembly of Syringa vulgaris (Lilac; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Lamiales; Oleaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 1,082.79 megabases and 1,091.00 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (98.46%) is scaffolded into 23 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 890.46 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 155.61 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
