Abstract

Within the framework of the Quatotron technique, an engineering system that reproduces the rejuvenating effect of heterochronic parabiosis without surgery, a phenomenon is observed that was considered impossible: in completely gray people, hair begins to darken. Darkening first appears at the ends of the hair, and only later from the roots. Since the hair shaft is traditionally considered as a "dead" keratin structure, this observation requires an explanation. We propose a unified model that includes two complementary mechanisms. The first is passive-physicochemical: the restoration of meta-media (interstitium, lymph, glycocalyx, extracellular matrix) under the action of Quatotron increases the delivery of objectabols and melanin precursors to the porous shaft; the ends of the hair, which have a damaged cuticle and increased porosity, are the first to adsorb and accumulate pigment. The second is active-cellular: the Quatotron activates stem melanocytes in the reservoir of the hair follicle, triggering their differentiation and migration into the hair matrix; the newly formed pigmented hair becomes visible from the root. Thus, the sequence "tips → roots" reflects the overlap of two processes: rapid passive saturation of porous keratin and slower active regeneration of the follicle pigment unit. The phenomenon is proposed to be considered as an accessible visual marker of systemic rejuvenation of the body.
