The genome sequence of the Wood Ant, Formica rufa Linnaeus, 1761 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)
We present a genome assembly from an individual female Formica rufa (Wood Ant; Arthropoda; Insecta; Hymenoptera; Formicidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 342.96 megabases. The assembly is scaffolded into 26 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 21.86 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
