The genome sequence of Matricaria discoidea DC., 1838 (Asterales: Asteraceae)
We present a genome assembly of Matricaria discoidea (Pineapple Weed; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Asterales; Asteraceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 2,091.66 megabases and 2,094.89 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.72%) was scaffolded into nine chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 223.48 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 149.75 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 32,068 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
