Research progress on acute respiratory failure in patients with malignant tumors

Malignant tumors have become one of the main diseases threatening human health. More and more malignant tumor patients are able to receive early diagnosis and active treatment, and advanced malignant tumor patients can also receive sufficient symptomatic supportive treatment. During the progression and treatment of malignant tumors, patients may experience acute respiratory failure due to various causes and triggers such as complications of the disease, treatment complications, and comorbidities during diagnosis and treatment. Acute respiratory failure can lead to worsening of the patient's condition and poor prognosis. This review discusses the relevant factors of acute respiratory failure in malignant tumor patients, the impact of acute respiratory failure on the prognosis of malignant tumor patients, and the latest progress in the prevention and treatment of acute respiratory failure in malignant tumor patients, providing reference for clinical practice and related clinical research.
