On race, racism and racialization: reflections on climate mobility

This short entry explains how the terms race, racism and racialization are relevant for understanding the political significance of climate mobility research and governance. Drawing on the work at the intersection of migration studies and race, it makes the case that while climate mobility may not appear to have anything to do with race and racism, the discourse bears traces of race and racism. Attending to these traces, the paper argues, provides a means of better grasping how climate mobility discourse operates as a new and emerging formation of power.
