Target Dependence of Fragmentation Reaction Cross-Sections at Intermediate Energies and Its Calculation in the Relativistic and Low-Energies Oriented Models

Abstract In modern life radioactive isotopes are used not only in science, but also in our everyday life. Isotopes not existing in nature can be obtained in the nuclear collisions. To predict the isotope distributions of fragments obtained in the collisions of two nuclei at certain energy different models can be used. In this report the ratios of isotope distributions obtained in the reactions with the same projectiles (86Kr, 40Ca) with heavy (181Ta)and light (9Be) targets at different energies are discussed. To explain the hyperbolic envelope of this ratios obtained in experiments the transport-statistical approach is used and comparison with the EPAX and Abrasion-Ablation models is presented. It is shown that the impact parameter plays an important role in determination of isotope distributions of projectile-like fragments.
