Evaluation of Green Airport Criteria in Sustainable Transportation Using DEMATEL and BWM

In line with increasing environmental concerns and sustainability objectives, evaluating airports based on green criteria has gained growing importance. This study aims to evaluate and prioritize green airport criteria using the DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) and BWM (Best-Worst Method) approaches. The main criteria, identified through a comprehensive literature review and expert consultation, include energy efficiency, carbon footprint, waste management, fuel management, transportation alternatives, next-generation aircraft, noise pollution, and sustainable materials. The study examines both the priority levels of these criteria and their causal relationships. Data collected from field experts were analyzed using the DEMATEL and BWM multi-criteria decision-making methods. The findings identify the most critical criteria for improving environmental performance and provide practical implications for sustainable airport management.
