The Five Tibetan Chakras as a Starting Point for a Psychocorporeal Reflection. Symbols, Colors, and Exploratory Working Hypotheses

This article explores, as a working hypothesis and not as a validated protocol, whether and how the symbolic structure of the five Tibetan chakras — colors, visualizations, syllables — can offer insights for psychological practice. The operation is conducted by clearly distinguishing between: the description of the Tibetan contemplative tradition, reported in its original context; a possible metaphorical or imaginative use that a mental health professional might make of it in session — not as a technique derived from the tradition, but as a symbolic analogy. It is further proposed, as an original and non-validated hypothesis, that the color spontaneously preferred by a patient may constitute a projective prompt to be explored in session. To this is added a further extension: integration with certain Reiki self-treatment practices, in which the hands are placed on the body according to the patient's preferred color. The work presents no data, proposes no clinical protocol, and does not intend to replace or imitate Tibetan religious practice or Reiki practice: it deliberately borrows only their symbolic structure.
