Prioritization, resource-allocation, and sequencing methods: protocol for a systematic review with narrative synthesis

Prospective protocol for a systematic review with narrative synthesis examining evidence on comparative performance, robustness, information and analytic burden, implementation performance, limitations and failure modes, and relationships with prespecified decision-setting variables across the included method families. Search development and validation preceded deposition; formal OpenAlex and PubMed searching, screening, extraction, appraisal, and synthesis had not begun at the prospective cutoff. Protocol Amendment 1, dated 14 September 2026, permits validated Automated System assistance in review procedures. Formal retrieval and deduplication were complete, and title/abstract screening had not begun, when the amendment was adopted.
