Limnophila (Limnophila) japonica Alexander, 1913 (Diptera, Limoniidae) newly recorded from China
Limnophila ( Limnophila ) japonica Alexander, 1913, a crane-fly species originally described from Japan, is newly recorded from China. Specimens were collected in Shaanxi province (Tongchuan, Weinan, Xianyang), China, during faunal surveys of Limoniidae. Morphological diagnostic characters, including wing pattern, body colouration, and male genitalia, are redescribed and illustrated. The discovery expands the known distribution of this species to continental East Asia and enriches the Chinese Limnophila fauna.
