Water Quality and Aquatic/Semi-Aquatic Heteroptera (Hemiptera) Diversity of Sultan Marshes National Park Soysallı Pond (Develi: Kayseri)
This study was conducted to determine the aquatic and semi-aquatic Heteroptera fauna of Soysallı Pond in Sultan Marshes National Park, Türkiye, and to obtain information about the water quality of these aquatic insects habitats. For this purpose, water and aquatic heteroptera samples were collected monthly between February and October 2025. Simultaneously with the collection of insect samples, some physicochemical parameters of the water (pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, electrical conductivity and total dissolved solids) were measured in the field. A total of 10 aquatic/semi-aquatic Heteroptera species were identified in the research area. The species Hydrometra stagnorum (Linnaeus, 1758) was recorded for the first time in Kayseri province. In addition, the current water quality of the pond was evaluated according to some physicochemical parameters determined in the field.
