Lajos Méhely (1862–1953), Hungarian herpetologist, attended at the 6th International Congress of Zoology at Bern, Switzerland, in 1904. In Méhely's legacy, a photograph was found in which the group of 16 vertebrate zoologists participating in the congress can be seen during the trip to Interlaken. The discovery of the photograph is described in detail, then a comprehensive summary of the Congress is given, based on Méhely's own report.
