EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF INFLUENCE PATTERNS OF TRAINING IN A DRIVING SCHOOL ON TIME OF DRIVERS' REACTIONS
The study objective is to identify the influence patterns of training in a driving school on the psychophysiological characteristics of students, which are of great importance for road safety. Theoretical studies have revealed the prerequisites for a significant correlation between the reaction time of candidates for drivers and the indicators of algorithmic analysis of the plot component of virtual vehicle control simulators. Experimental studies will make it possible to confirm the proposed hypothesis. The task which the paper is devoted is to conduct testing of students of driving school who have studied without using vehicle simulators at the initial stage of training and before taking the school exam. Afterwards, the impact of the educational process, which includes the use of virtual vehicle control simulators, will be studied. Research methods: analysis of questionnaire results, psychodiagnostic testing. The novelty of the work is in finding the fact that the “standard” training has a negligible effect on reaction speed, attention concentration, and the capacity of working memory. Research results: taking into account the obtained results of experimental studies, further research into the plot component of vehicle simulators and the extent of scenarios influence on drivers’ psychophysiology is justified. Conclusions: training at a driving school without the use of virtual technologies to practise driving skills and develop a driver’s behaviour when moving in traffic has a negligible impact on the important psychophysiological characteristics of the participants; therefore, to improve the effectiveness of training, it is necessary to use modern information technologies.
