The Influence of Workload and the Physical Work Environment on Employee Performance: The Mediating Role of Job Stress Among Gojek Drivers in North Bekasi
This study aims to analyze the influence of of workload and the physical work environment on employee performance, with job stress serving as a mediating variable among Gojek drivers in North Bekasi. This study employs a quantitative method using a non-probability sampling approach, where the unit of analysis is the Gojek drivers in North Bekasi. A total of 90 respondents were included in the analysis. The collected data were analyzed using SmartPLS. The associative method was used to examine the influence of the independent variables, namely workload (X1) and the physical work environment (X2), on the dependent variable, employee performance (Y), among Gojek drivers in North Bekasi. The results of the study indicate that: workload has no significant effect on job stress; he physical work environment has a significant effect on job stress; workload has no significant effect on the performance of Gojek drivers; the physical work environment has a significant effect on the performance of Gojek drivers; job stress has a significant effect on the performance of Gojek drivers, Statistically, these findings suggest that job stress does not act as a mediating variable in the relationship between workload and Gojek driver performance, and These results indicate that job stress does not serve as an intervening variable in the relationship between the physical work environment and Gojek driver performance.
