Broken Bonds: Quantifying Betrayal-Related Neuro-Injury in Law and Medicine
If relational health is defined by coherence — order and optimal function — then betrayal representsthe violent, sudden imposition of positive entropy (disorder) upon that system.BNRI describes the measurable consequences of that collapse: disruption of the stress axis, damage tothe brain's regulatory structures, breakdown of cardiac coherence, and fragmentation of the self. The purpose of this theory is not to claim discovery but to integrate known, peer-reviewed data acrossbiology, psychology, and law to establish a unified picture of what betrayal does to the humanorganism. Recognizing betrayal as a definable neuro-injury will open new pathways for treatment, prevention, and legal recognition — reframing "infidelity" as the bio-neurological equivalent of trauma. Version 2.1 (September 2026): corrected-references reprint. All references verified against their records; argument and wording unchanged.
