H2IOSC Insights for CLARIN and OPERAS

What linguists expect from the H2IOSC project: the results of focus groups with computational linguistics researchers. The poster illustrates the findings of four focus groups with SSH’s researchers. The linguistics researchers stated that they are familiar with CLARIN-IT and use it. They also declare their expectation that H2IOSC will enable CLARIN-IT to become more innovative. CLARIN ERIC is one of Europe's leading research infrastructures. CLARIN's growth is linked to digital innovation factors such as large language models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence (AI). To take advantage of these opportunities, CLARIN-IT joined the H2IOSC project, which is a federation of four research infrastructures (IR) CLARIN-IT, DARIAH-IT, E-RIHS IT, and OPERAS-IT, into one cluster. This cloud will allow scholars and researchers to access multidisciplinary and multinational resources, tools, and services in the humanities and social sciences (SSH) through a unique Marketplace software platform. The Marketplace, whose development is coordinated by OPERAS-IT, is also integrated with the H2IOSC Observatory: an analytical framework for monitoring the evolving landscape of digital resources. The H2IOSC Observatory provides usage data and allows the services requested by users to be aligned with those offered. Monitoring is also based on qualitative approaches, such as those developed from focus group results.
