The Effect of an Instructional Program on Mother Attitudes Toward Prevention of Uterine Prolapse
Background & Objective: Uterine prolapse is a common pelvic floor disorder associated with significant physical and psychosocial consequences. Improving mothers’ attitudes toward preventive measures is essential to reduce its burden. Tohe present study was conducted with aim to evaluate the effect of an instructional program on mothers’ attitudes toward the prevention of uterine prolapse. Materials & Methods: This quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest study was conducted among 70 mothers attending Bint Al-Huda Teaching Hospital in Thi-Qar, Iraq. Participants were selected using non-probability purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire including a three-point Likert attitude scale. The instructional program consisted of two educational sessions. Statistical analysis was performed using paired sample t-test, independent t-test, and ANOVA. P<0.05 was considered significant. Results: A statistically significant improvement was observed in the overall mean attitude score after the intervention (P<0.001). Education level was significantly associated with post-test attitude scores (P<0.05), while other socio-demographic and obstetrical variables showed no significant association. Conclusion: The instructional program effectively enhanced mothers’ attitudes toward the prevention of uterine prolapse, highlighting the importance of structured health education interventions.
