Impact Of Social Media On The Psychological Health Of Parents And Youth W.R.T. Dombivali-Kalyan Region

Abstract: Social media has played vital role in present generation. It has greatly influenced to Youth. Throughout the day Youth is surrounded with various means of social media viz YouTube, twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp etc. Though the usage of social media helped Youth to gain knowledge, experiences etc. On the contrary excessive usage leads to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, mental illness etc. The study has done sharing questioner through Google form to population of Dombivli City using random sampling without replacement & collected data from 100 respondents. The study tried to find factor influencing psychological health and relationship of parents and youth. Study has analyzed using Chi square of factors influencing usage of social media. Also depicts excessive usage of social media is mot associated with gender. Study ended with remark parents and youth can cope up with psychological issues by setting time limit, managing screen time, along with-it Government can come forward with social campaign to reduce the ill effect of excessive use of social media.
