Topological Substrate Independence and Non-Equilibrium Hardware Porting of Consciousness via Rough Operator Algebra and Composite Torsion
The realization of substrate independence—porting consciousness and memory from biological neural networks (wetware) to silicon or quantum hardware without information loss—remains one of the ultimate engineering and informational challenges. Traditional reductionist models fail because they treat consciousness as a static computational state rather than a far-from-equilibrium dynamic topological flow. In this paper, we establish a rigorous theoretical framework using Rough Operator Algebra (ROA) and Phase Space Composite Torsion to mathematically define and execute the non-lossy porting of cognitive topologies across disparate physical substrates. By treating wetware trajectories as non-smooth, noncommutative processes, we demonstrate how critical macro-collapse can anchor conscious attractors into artificial hardware matrices.
